US Navy Carrier Strike Group - Part I

 Good evening, everyone!

I am sorry I have been silent for so long, but I have been ill for quite some time now and though I was able to do my job, I had no energy left to work on miniatures for longer time, nor was I able to post some updates.

I am very sorry for that.

Nevertheless before I became ill, I was able to start the US Navy Carrier Strike Group I was about to assemble.

To be honest: it was quite disappointing to see how little details are on the vessels. I guess I am just too much into GHQ miniatures ... But it is okay, as the ships are very small themselves.

The first vessels I started were four destroyers and CV-2 Lexington. More to follow.

So I hope that soon I will be able to field a formidable force soon (maybe by end of the year?).

So far for now.

See you on the next update!

Gallian Army Construction Report No 18 - Show me your gun, babe!

Hey everyone!

So, as I promised, here we go. Show me your gun, babe!

Speaking of weapons ...

There has been a lot of progress on the Hetzer – I mean … the Jagdpanzer 38 – and though I dropped it on the ground a few times, it still is alive. A very well constructed vehicle. German – I mean - Gallian Engineering rules!

But ... I have been informed by someone about the vehicle being a not all too perfect match to the original and that I could have done a lot of things in a different way and I have to state: Yes – yeah! You’re right! It isn’t a perfect match of the original and I guess a professional sculptor would have made a wonderfully perfect Gallian Tank Destroyer 38 out of it – but guess what? I am not a perfect sculptor and I don’t care if it totally hits the spot. For me it needs to catch the Gallian feeling, and I think it does very well … plus: it is a miniature for gaming made by me. That is what matters for me. I am not creating a diorama. For me it already is just epic that I was able to achieve a goal that big just by deciding to do it and I love the outcome.
So, if there is anyone who can do better, please feel free to do so. Use whatever material you might want to use to make a perfect match of the original pre-VC vehicle. I am happy with the tank I constructed.

Still there is some work that has to be done. I have to sand some parts and adjust the armor brackets. Then there is this construction plate every Gallian Tank has on it and after that is finished the vehicle will (finally) be finished and ready to be painted. Yes!

Ever seen such a beautiful design?!
Its lovely ‘skirt’ is just hiding the weakest spots.
Impressive details!
and perfectly censored!

I also have been able to go on with the Gallian Truck, though it seems that the bench seat disappeared which leaves me stunned. Where did it go? Maybe it was taken by some Borrowers … anyway:

And last but not least: the infantry

That concludes this update – sadly I won’t be able to go on with this for a while 'cause I have been challenged by the Imperial Japanese Navy to finish my US Navy – That will take at least on month, I suppose.
So that will be my next project – and after that, we will go on with the Gallian army! I promise.

See you on the next update!
